Shilling Fields II (March 2011)

Shilling Fields is Fauldenfell's annual spring camping event. For 2011 the event is going to be held outside Morrilton, Arkansas on March 18-20th and we are inviting all interested Dagorhirim from surrounding areas to come out and join us for the weekend. This is going to be the largest event Fauldenfell has ever hosted and we hope to make it the best as well.

The battle takes place outside the fictional village of Shilling Fields, a rich land disputed between two of Fauldenfell's minor barons Lord Valhurst and Lord Monteban. These two scoundrels fought to a bloody stalemate last year, before Duke Talmund and the Vanguard stepped in to restore order in the region, but with the recent invasions from the south they have seized the opportunity to make more trouble.

The main focus of Shilling Fields is going to be on scenario battles. Our goal is to spice up field battles by adding tactical elements like bridges, choke points, ambushes, and additional objectives for battlefield commanders to achieve besides just "kill the other team." The area we're going to be fighting in is very large, so there will be plenty of room for maneuvering. Besides scenarios we'll also be doing the Shilling Fields Peasant Village Raid, the Great Fauldenfell Snowball Fight, and Capture the Sheep.

We also plan to host a huge variety of tournaments during the evening hours. In addition to most types of weapons, we're hosting a Two Person Team Tourney and a Four Horseman Tourney. We'll also be hosting the infamous Fauldenfell Random Weapons Tourney where your fate depends on a roll of the dice. Will you be fighting that halberd with sword and board or a bag of rocks? Or maybe a...fish?

It's not just fighting either. We're also hosting numerous social events on Saturday evening including a Bardic Circle and the 1st Annual Shilling Fields Vanguard Chili Cookoff.

It's going to be an awesome weekend that you don't want to miss.
